Our History

Christ Episcopal Church has been a place of faith and fellowship since 1844, when it was founded by Bishop Jackson Kemper, Missionary Bishop of Missouri. The original church building was completed in 1848, then lovingly expanded over the years with the addition of a sacristy and guild room in 1883 and our distinctive bell tower in 1890. The parish hall followed in 1957, supporting a growing and active community.

Among our cherished treasures is a small tracker pipe organ, brought by steamship in 1870 and still played today — a beautiful reminder of our long and vibrant heritage.

Christ Church remains a warm, close-knit congregation that loves to share meals, build friendships, and worship together in the rich tradition of the Book of Common Prayer. All are welcome in this community of faith.

Help Christ Church grow and continue to minister to those in our community. You can make donations or pledge payments from your checking account via PayPal or with any major credit or debit card.

Please note that the donation will be directed to The Diocese of West Missouri’s account but they will absorb all of the processing costs and forward your full donation to us.
